Energy Drink Commercial – 8 – Nailing the Camera
September 20, 2018
With gradual refinement, I believe I have one of the final iterations of the camera movement. Things I have changed:
- Smoothing out camera transitions when entering an angle
- Took out one of the flashing, dramatic lights and generally tightened up that animation as to squeeze all possible extra frames out
- Can animation and wobble to reveal at the end
The biggest changes I will have to make at this point is general timing between larger events based on how long turn out to be after simming, rather than specific animation curves themselves. I have allocated 3 seconds in the beginning of the animation for the liquid pouring in and can growth simulation, about 1.5 seconds for the ice exploding, and about 1.5 seconds for the final reveal shot. I believe I am overestimating these values, hoping to come back later and use that time a bit more liberally to spread out and focus on the various shots, but better safe than sorry. These times are also based roughly off of my original animatic, so they should be relatively correct.
