Energy Drink Commercial – 5 – Testing Background Ideas

Of course there needs to be a background, but I don’t want anything too flashy that draws away from the product itself. I had the idea for this weird abstract background inspired from the Nike Hyper Venom II commercial seen in this post, so I threw together this quick little system today in some free time. It’s interesting and all procedural, which is nice, and with a bit of development might be worth using in the final. I am concerned that the lighting might make it look a bit weird, but I want these large geometric waves to be lurking in the background as the viewer is flying around the can, attention on the effects. More updates to come on this considering the lightning plays such a large role in how the background is viewed, I might opt out for a background that parallels the ominous vibe, but is a bit more simplistic. Can’t wait to see it in comp with basic camera movements!
