Energy Drink Commercial – 2 – Basic Effects
September 11, 2018
Because the effects for the initial shot are fairly straightforward, I decided to throw a quick proof of concept together really quick.
A quick FLIP sim. My problem when pouring into the cup was (obviously) water spilling all over the place. I went in and added a bit of velocity dampening to particles that are alive for a while and even take them and scale them upwards subtly towards the end to give the illusion that the liquid is filling up the cup. This all works pretty well, just need to refine it a bit more and it should be fairly ready for a higher resolution simulation.
I have done quite a few growth/infection systems in the past so I took a few minutes to throw some old code together. These 3 are using Simplex, Manhattan Worley, and Alligator noises. The growth is really easy to use and control and is basically plug and play with any mesh, so I am excited to refine this and test it with the actual mesh!
